Froch, Kessler and Abraham are my picks for Bute UD. Ward and Direll will take Bute on a different (and untested) play field but (as a Bute loyal fan) I think Bute KOs them both :tong. Dont get me wrong all of them could beat Bute but at this moment I feel that Bute has the confidence and skills to edge a win.
First of all, I don't know why I wrote that he turned it down because I know there was never a concrete offer. Secondly, no, Bute was NOT already the champion. He was ranked #2 in the WBC rankings and Froch was #3, both behind Inkin, directly after Froch beat Tatevosyan in 2 rounds. Bute did not even fight his eliminator with Bika by this point.
Right now? i'd agree with you 100%, Bute would UD all three of them, however right after the Andrade fight, or before? no, i saw a very lost and confused bute in that last round, he did not wanna be in there, and the three of them would have put a hurting on him. However his confidence in the last 2 fights has been through the roof, and i see a great fighter in him, he was awesome in his last fight.
Bute may well be better than Taylor (I guess he may turn out to be) but Froch although floored wasnt close to being KOd. But to say Bute is better than Taylor is still a bit unknown ie Taylor has 2 wins over Hopkins a draw with Wright and a win over Lacy. Butes big wins are Andrade, Berrio, Bika and Miranda. On that note Taylors resume looks better than Butes. Were just guessing on potential, and being a Bute fan im expecting him to be better, but its still not proven. And Frochs resume has Magee, Dirrell and Pascal, which at this time also seems better than Butes, im not convinced Bute would beat Pascal
Did Froch vs Taylor happend at middleweight and i didn't knew ? I was talking about Taylor's performance as suppermiddleweight. And to loose u don't need to be close to be ko'ed you can also lose when your close to a UD. And what did Pascal accomplish as a suppermiddleweight he didn't do much as a Light havy either beside beating and ring rusty powerful but one dimensional and with health problems (he recently been under surgery at his left heand) Diaconu ?
Exactly, a young and green 168lbs in Pascal and a 160lbs in Taylor, hard to argue with this decision, this was good for his career.
I have seen all Pascal fight and I'm pretty sure this would be ugly real quick for Pascal. Pascal got a real big HEART and If Pascal get past Dawson I my change my mind about his skill.
I don't think it went down like that. I think they tried to start negotiation and then the supersix came along and Froch wanted that instead.
He is, though he doesn't match-up well with Bute. I'd actually pick prime (or even Tsypko) Andrade to give Froch a hard fight, probably get the W if Carl decides to slug it out.
Because he would lose. Did anyone see how red his nose was after the Miranda fight. I actually think he has worse defense than Froch.
Bute and Froch were in talks twice. Once, Froch ducked out, which was fine, it's his perogative. Bute wasn't a name yet. The second time, talks ended because Bute's mandatory with Andrade became due. The Super Six was announced a couple weeks later. It's pretty clear that neither side could make the money work and had better offers on the table than fighting each other, so they didn't fight each other. It's not like Bute didn't try to make the fight though. He sat ringside for Froch-Taylor and called out the winner afterwards (and Froch called out Bute as well). But with Bute getting a guaranteed $1M+ to fight Andrade, and Froch getting a guaranteed $3M+ to fight in the Super Six, it didn't make sense to fight each other. Both guys have publicly proclaimed their willingness to fight each other, and if they're both top fighters by the time the Super Six ends, then it will probably happen, and it will be a MUCH bigger fight than it would have been before. Of course, the truth doesn't fit into a 5 word generalization, so people will probably ignore it.
A challenge is nothing until a contract is signed... Fighters call out fighters all the time to make a name for themselves.
