Why did Calzaghe wait ten year before coming to the US to fight its best fighters?

Eubank was past his prime and he did take the fight on short notice but you cant just brush it of and act like it was an easy fight for Joe. You have to look at all the facts to get the true picture.

Eubank was fighting on the undercard anyway so he was fight fit. Yes his opponent changed two weeks before the fight but so did Joe's. If Chris didn't know he would be fighting Joe until 2 weeks before the fight then obviously Joe was in the same boat.

The longest fights of Joe's career pre-Eubank was 2 fights that went to the 8th round. His next longest fight was 5 rounds. All his other fighters ended before the 5th round. Yes Eubank was past his peak but Joe knew he would probably still go 12 rounds with Eubank as Chris had an iron jaw so its still very impressive to go 12 rounds for the first time ever with someone as good as Eubank. No, it wasn't a prime Eubank but Chris still had enough left to give many a fighter, especially a young, inexperienced fighter a hell of a fight.
