Why did Canelo move up to LHW for Kovalev, but can't do the same for Bivol & Beterbiev?

You're in the category of someone with what are euphemistically known as "mental health issues...

Because those two actually pose a threat, unlike the ghost of Krusher Kovalev.

Bivol doesn't look like anything special. Don't see any reason for Canelo to duck him. I think Beterbiev is a bit dangerous for his taste though. Maybe in a couple of years

No one's suggesting a catchweight fight. It was Bivol who has been saying for years that he is a small LHW and is very capable of coming down to 168. Bivol made it clear in an interview that he had a desire to move down to 168 to fight Canelo at SMW. A catchweight fight with Bivol was only being tossed around when Canelo was looking for a late replacement for September when the Plant fight fell through. Bivol after claiming in an interview that he could make 168 and wanted to fight Canelo then said that he needed more time before he could come down to make 168.
Canelo isn't calling out LHW Champions. It's only his haters that keep pushing him to move up to LHW since he's decimated the competition at 168. Also, he doesn't have a LHW belt, he had to vacate it because the commissions don't allow you to hold world titles at two different weight classes simultaneously. So if he moved up to LHW and fought for another World Title there, then if he won it, he'd have to either vacate it again or vacate one of his SMW titles which would cause him to no longer be Undisputed at SMW. Holding 4 major titles at SMW doesn't really give him much flexibility to move up to LHW, because he'll inevitably have different mandatories at 168 for each of the belts he holds at SMW. It makes more sense for Bivol who has made it very clear that he can make 168 to come down and challenge for Undisputed at SMW. That seems to be a goal of Bivol and something he's been talking about doing for years.

I would expect Canelo to defend his SMW Titles rather than moving up to LHW again and challenging for a title there. Winning a LHW Title vs someone like Beterbiev would be a significant victory for his legacy, but I don't think anyone really expects him to campaign at LHW as Undisputed SMW Champ. And it was evident from when he fought Kovalev was that he was much slower at LHW than he is at SMW and putting on extra weight to move up to LHW is a big risk if he plans to defend his titles at SMW.
Khan was treated to a catchweight fight. It was fought at 155 per Khan's demand.
That's what Canelo's been doing. He fought Liam Smith, Golovkin, Jacobs, Fielding, Callum Smith, Saunders, Plant, and Kovalev, all were at their natural weight class. When he fought at catchweights, like against Cotto, Khan, and Mayweather that was due to his opponent's demands so he would have to fight them closer to their natural weight class.

Team Beterbiev already confirmed that they received no offer from Team Clenelo.

Golovkin practically begged for a third fight. DAZN also. It was Clenelo who swerved the third fight. He even flat out said that he wouldn't fight Golovkin again.

Beterbiev was already set to fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk. Canelo was willing to fight any LHW Champ who was available and willing to fight him. Beterbiev was busy preparing for Gvozdyk, Kovalev stepped up.

So Clenelo offered the fight to Beterbiev while Beterbiev was already in training camp for another opponent?

Say what, bro? Clenelo was the bigger man at 160 and would be the bigger man at 168.
