There must be few real fans, coz Cotto's last fight had the lowest HBO WCB ratings ever, and Margarito is more or less unknown. :yep

Your idea of refreshment is Kermit Cintron's "impressive streak of wins"?

You must have felt like you were in a cryogenic freeze chamber the day the mighty THOMAS DAMGAARD brought his ass to America with his INCREDIBLE 37 wins streak. :D

And speaking of one-liners, I would invite you to revisit your own recent serie of posts and explain what they consist of if not one-liners.

There is not a double standard like some have mentioned. the answer is quite obvious. Margarito had to fight Cintron b/c he had the belt and Marg didnt. Margarito had to work his way back to the top echelon of the divison. However, Floyd is at the top and whipped Hatton's ass already. Therefore he has no business fighting someone who he already CLEARLY beat.

Of course there are double standards. One is the p4p ****ing #1, the other is a B level titlist, and at least he was fighting a guy in his own division

Do you not expect the p4p #1, the so called best on the planet, to have his matchmaking heavily scrutinized? Christ, there are some idiots

The answer to this question is simple.

Cintron since losing the first time to Margo had beaten some decent fighters like Estrada, Suarez and Matthysse. He also had won the vacant IBF title and defended it a couple times.

On top of that, Margo had just lost to Williams (with a win vs Johnson filtered in between this and the rematch).

Hatton on the other hand hasnt fought since.

And any person who feels that fight ended the way it did because of bad reffing...and NOT the fact that Ricky was THOROUGHLY outclassed is both biased and an idiot.

These situations are two entirely different circumstances. Shame on anyone in this thread lending credance to this thought process.

    :-(

The double standards extend beyond the eventual rematch with Hatton (which BTW hasn't yet been confirmed).

As previously stated, Mayweather beating Baldo didn't receive the approval of the usual Mayweather haters yet Margo's win over Cintron did.

Both the incentives for either winners and the situations that prevailed were similar yet the former was criticized and the latter was praised.

Double standards but coming only from a small group of whiners who I bet won't hesitate to backstab their heros the moment they'll reach stardom status.

Kind of people who are feeling short changed by life in general and hate anyone who's remotely successful.

Quite the talent pool here to fill the ranks of right-wing anarchists, the intensity of the hatred is just right... :D

Is Hatton not fighting Paulie next, though? I thought that's why Paulie was on the undercard; Ricky wanted his IBF belt back.

If Hatton loses, no way Floyd will fight him.

If he wins, Hattons streak of wins since Floyd, would be better than that of Cintron's (whose fight JUST before Marg was extremely disappointing, in any sense of the word). And Hatton would also have the IBF belt.

    :huh :conf

I hate this fight, but if it happens, there's very little difference between this and Marg-Cintron 2. Both are either an abomination, or just "okay". Nothing impressive about them.

And  to the guy who highlighted and put in capital big words: IBF belt... The same dude who tries to bring Floyd down for chasing the WBC belt off of the lineal (and undisputed) champ in Baldomir.

    Clear case of double standards.

Cintron won a belt and was impressive in some victories. Did Margarito or Cintron call for the immediate rematch? No. Also there werent any other options for them. Also they arent p4p fighters.

Mayweather on the other hand wants to call himself the best and p4p #1. This status requires action, not just finances. DLH and HAtton are great victories, make no mistake about that, but others arent sleeping, Cotto is sweeping the division and is the main threat, if he doesnt fight Cotto soon, Cotto will simply slip by and take over the p4p crown, he is already knocking at the door and Floyd is trying to hide the crown and take the back door exit.

    Yeah, Margarito could've would've should've.
You have been nagging all along about how Margarito is a TRUE Welterweight, the man was in the division for how long?, his ENTIRE career how come he never even got close to the Undisputed title in a division he has been in all his career?!, people moving up in weight got a shot and he didn't, WHY?! :huh
About being able to beat Baldomir, fact is(TRY to accept it) he didn't and Mayweather beat Baldomir(The official undisputed champion) therefore making him the top fighter in the division right now. Beating Cintron DOESN'T, accept it. As a matter of fact, a win over Baldomir is FAR better than a win over Cintron.

As the P4P#1 and Undisputed champion of the division he would expect the rest of the challengers(compared to him) to call him out with offers if they're interested, Mayweather WON'T run after them, they need to knock on his door if they want his spot.
