I feel Conor only cares about fame and wants to fight an inferior fighter like Cowboy because he`s better known than some better UFC fighters, is this just a cash grab by Conor?
It's (Cerrone) the biggest risk he can take without certainly losing after not fighting for so long. And leaves a door open to Masvidal-Khabib-Tony for the winner. Good business, and Cerrone isn't (to my eye) an inferior fighter at the moment. Welterweight too, which is too heavy for McGregor IMO.
They had to find an opponent who he might be able to defeat, that's why. Therefore no Gaethje no Masvidal no TFerg etc etc BUT Cowboy coming off 2 stoppage losses. Conor has been calling out Franke Edgar FFS. Conor is clearly mentally fragile these days. Who knows what he has left. I wouldn't be surprised if he really struggles against Cerrone to get the win.
Let’s be serious, cowboy is a shot fighter with overrated wrestling and sub par jits. He’s taken way too many shots. Connor needs an easy fight with a name. From there he will likely face Nate Diaz, another punching bag. If he fights masvidal more power to him but he’s getting brutally beat. Diaz is a safe big money fight.
