If Chico had a problem making weight then he shouldn't have took that fight ... He wasn't using his height and his reach because Mayweather's superior footspeed and handspeed made him fight a different fight. He was looking for a target ... he was trying to get into rhythm ... but he couldn't do either ... Floyd would shuffle to one side ... then he would bounce from side to set ... once he seen Chico getting set thats when he shot his rapid fire hooks to the head. Mayweather was just more skilled that Chico when it came down to it ... Chico couldn't make any adjustments --
If Chico had a problem making weight then he shouldn't have took that fight ... MONEY....and the chance to beat another undefeated champ. The train waits for no one. Point, Mosley.
that was his plan. unfortunately, he didn't have a plan b. so he just tried harder to land a big shot. i've seen him box and use his jab well against casamayor in the 2nd fight, but that was only after he hired Goosen as his trainer.
I think the fact that he really needed the money had more to do with it than letting his fans down. He knew he would be missing out on paydays while he was in prison for beating up his wife. Chico was a warrior, and I thought going into that fight that he had a shot at beating Mayweather. I was definitely pulling for Corrales. I do think the weight issues effected him, but I still think Mayweather would have beaten him at 135, 140, or 147. Chico was an excellent fighter, but I think Mayweather is on a different level.
