ODLH - they fought at 156, two pounds north of ODLH's current preferred weight of 154. And this was after ODLH won the WBO middleweight belt at the full 160 pound limit. And he KOed him with a body shot, which seems to impress you. So DLH made Hopkins come down 4 pounds to fight him, just so we're clear.

Trinidad - Had just beaten Joppy, a legit and very good middleweight, to earn the middleweight belt. He was the heavy favorite going into the fight. Was also undefeated. Above his best weight, but still a world class win.

Tarver - The undisputed man at light-heavyweight. Hopkins beat him moving UP in weight.

Pavlik - Undefeated, and had fought as high as 169 before. Fought Taylor at a catchweight of 164 in the second fight. Fought Hopkins at a catchweight of 170. Hopkins dismantled him. Note that Hopkins was also 43 at the time of the fight, had won a title at light-heavy, and was the underdog.

He also has an undefeated 10 yr reign as middleweight king (you say Hatton dominated LWW when he beat basically no one over a short period, but give BHop no credit for going 10 years without a loss while defending his title?).

And of his losses, all except the loss to Jones (and his first match) were close and competitive. Split decision with Calzaghe, split decision with Taylor, and a UD to Taylor by one round. He also gave Jones his most competitive fight until Jones lost to Tarver much later, and this is when Hopkins was still fairly green. And he's still fighting at the top of his weighclass at 45.

BHop is a beast. Whatever caveats you choose to throw out there, he is truly a great fighter, unlike Hatton who was a mediocre fighter that got some lucky breaks and some home cooking. Had he not forced Tyzsu, the reigning champion, to fight him in his own back yard we wouldn't even be talking about him anymore, because no ref would have allowed the mugging that went on in there and Tyzsu would have won that fight.
