Trout ain't all that great but neither is canelo or cotto. Trout probably won both those fights. The truth is these guys like Cotto and Canelo only now how to beat up a punching bag, they can't even throw a punch hard while moving their feet, which is why once a guy start moving his feet with his hands up they struggle. Frankly onlly Lara and Angulo are the only impressive guys at 154.

Trout's a tough southpaw who stays off the ropes pretty well. Cotto, even though he's good, has a pretty basic style. I'd say Trout's style is more suited to beat Cotto's than vice versa.

cotto's mind was off that night, thinking about his son about to come out of the closet.

trout boxed cotto into UD. deal with it.

ok ok. this is for the "fans" that are new to boxing and or the "fans" that just dont know sh!t, which is most of ESB.

styles make fights and cotto having to be the aggressor against a much bigger and longer counter puncher is the worst style possible for cotto. the reason cotto looked bad, ( it wasnt nearly as bad as people claim ) was because cotto had to come to a bigger longer man and just couldnt get inside when he needed to. If they were both the same size, as in reach and height, not weight (weight dont really mean sh!t) then i bet cotto would whip that boy.

but the facts are trout was much bigger with a much longer reach it made it a pretty easy fight for trout. trout would beat cotto every single time due to the reasons stated above. reach is a HUGE HUGE advantage or disadvantage depending on who has it.

some people cant grasp some of the simple advantages between fighters that arent 100% a direct result of ones skills. if you cant get inside its trouble when you are much shorter in reach and height.
