Why did D. Jones never get a re-match against Ali?

    Considering that Jones was the opponent that gave Ali the most trouble in the 60's it seems pretty strange that he never got a shot at him when he held the title. Do anyone know what the reasons for this were? Did Ali duck him, or was it something else that came in between?

    I think Chuvalo beat him in '64 or '65.

    But Jones did he a shot at Ernie Terrell's WBA title.

    billy danials and george chuvalo beat doug jones after the ali fight

    Ok. Do you think Jones still would have caused him problems if they've met sometime 65-67?

    Losing a rematch to Billy Daniels and being stopped by Chuvalo hampered his chances and Terrell outpointed him when defending his WBA crown.

    Second time around, he would have been all business like Cooper 2, plus he was much more physically imposing post-65...
