Maybe. When Oscar was fighting "nut size" seemed to being something to be proud of. Now it's all about potshotting, taking minimum risk and being a diva.
DLH fought everybody because he's a true fighter, he's not the cowardly type of boxer. Will History Favour the Brave? Case of Oscar De La Hoya http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=537628
Yep, it is a different era. Mayweather spoiled the sport by showing that one can cherry pick and earn huge paychecks.
Maybe, but why did he keep getting paid if the fights were ****?atsch How did he make more money in the ring than Oscar and Tyson if it was cherry picked easy fights in the fans eyes?atsch You guys can name the last 15 Mayweather fights without looking them up but claim to hate his style and that he was boring, why did you watch?atsch How did one man spoil an entire sport as you all claim and still have every fighter, website, and combat organization on his schlong.
Ok here's the thing. Nobody is going to ****yze it that in depth. Fact is DLH had nuts. It's just that simple.
Because he wasn't afraid. The reason BJS, Kid Chocolate and Saul Alvarez still haven't accepted Golovkin's challenge is that they're afraid of being badly hurt.
He fought almost everyone, but he did miss a few big names along the way - Vernon, Winky, and Cotto jump to mind.
Maybe you ought to remove your head from your ass, clean the **** from your eyes then LEARN HOW TO READ. Now, lets go back and re-read what I actually wrote and try to COMPREHEND the meaning; Show me exactly where I said that Vargas has a "better resume" than Ole' Fishnets. Don't worry, I'll wait...
My head out my ass did you not read what your wrote ? Vargas win over Winky is better any single win on Oscars ? How can you even type with all the **** covering your eyes ? So it's better than his win over Whitiker ? I didn't know Winky was ranked higher all time genius !:hi:
Only fighter he could of fought that he didn't was Winky Wright and that's just because Wright apparently priced himself out. Oscar dared to be great and was rewarded handsomely for it. From the beginning to the end of his career he sought the toughest fights. He could have easily avoided the likes of Tito or Quartey early on as he was already making millions for each fight. He made $9 million for his fights with Camacho and Chavez before facing the likes of Quartey and Tito but he wanted to face these dangerous young fighters, instead of playing it safe.
