He was a showman on Channel 5 in front of millions of viewers a number of times.

He must be doing something right as every boxing fan in the UK seems to have an opinion on him ...............

DeGale was getting a million plus viewers and couldn't sell out leisure centres. The channel 5 effect is grossly overrated.

He knows what he's doing, he's basically hinted at the fact he's acting like an arsehole on purpose.

Could be more to do with Degale himself to an extent. No way of knowing how much influence it had but Tyson Furys fans didnt come from Boxnation nor just his travelling community so im sure its had a positive effect for him

What fans? The guy is struggling to sell out a 20k seater venue. It's clear the Haye-Fury interest was purely based off those who like Haye and wanted to see him demolish Fury.

He's never sold out a big arena as far as I'm aware?

Just because he alone cant sell out a 20k venue doesnt mean he has no fans and thats besides the fact there is little casual interest in Chisora or the rematch itself.

A few posters on here were going to that-or said they were and supporting Fury, now ESB isnt the be all and end all but i get the impression Fury has got a decent following and Channel 5 will have played their part in that.

Certainly got people talking about Chris Eubank Jr.
