Why did Floid retire?

Mods do your job, surely repeating the same thing over and over again, no matter what it is should be a bannable offence. Especially with such an obvious troll account.

 

Same reason he's retiring after his next fight, he's bored. He moved up, beat the guy that he was an understudy to and then beat an undefeated champion from 140. At that point, he had achieved what he wanted. He was recognized as the best, he had broken records, he had broken streaks. What is there to motivate you? Maintaining that? There was no goal.

He came back because then there was a goal, people started to show up. He had something to motivate him. Why else come back? Floyd is a guy who is always striving to be the best he absolutely can be, and there were people who he saw that could test him, so he came back to boxing. That's what competitors do.

 

He received his 2 highest pay days at the time. I think the only sports person to make more money than him in that span was Tiger Woods.

 

The division was hot and when it gets too hot in the kitchen Floydie gets the fcuk outta there and waits for it to safely cool down before going back in.

 

Floyd had a rematch clause with Oscar De La Hoya. Oscar said Floyd could fight an interim fight, but he couldn't fight anyone else for a period of time but him. So Floyd fought Hatton (his interim fight) ... then Floyd sat out two years until the rematch clause expired.

Oscar was enraged. He fought Forbes, expecting Floyd to come back. He didn't. So Oscar signed to fight Pacquiao and Manny destroyed him.

When Oscar announced his retirement, Floyd returned and fought Marquez.

That's why there was always tension between them when Oscar's company promoted Floyd and why Richard Schaefer was mainly the point of contact for Mayweather.

 

No idea why he jus didn't fight Oscar again ... Would of made a **** load of money again and prob would of beat him again rather do that then sit on my **** for 2 years

except it wasn't two years was it, it was only a year meaning Floyd could've fought again 6 months after he fought Hatton.

 

As soon as the rematch clause for Oscar reached end of life, he announced his comeback. It isn't rocket science.

I read a article once in which he stated his body was falling apart. He had a bunch of injuries and ailments. Had he not retired then, I doubt he'd be in the sport now.
