Why did Floyd leave 135 AS SOON as Morales came to 130?

No matter what anyone says, Floyd has had a great career.

lol who was at 135 at that time? Freitas? Sosa?Lazcano? Casamayor? lol he went (as he always does) with what brings him money and notoriety. He took the huge money fight with Gatti and it paid off for him. Smart decision then and even smarter in retrospect.

Terrible thread. Morales himself was small and didn't operate well at 135.
He beat Castillo, the boogeyman. After that, he just went for money fights, not legacy fights though.

Morales got outboxed by Zahir Raheem. Floyd would have made him look foolish.

There's a strong rumour on the internetz that Morales beat the **** outta Floyd in a sparring match and embarrased him.

There's no footage of it, but i'm willing to believe it's true, because Morales was a great warrior and because I dislike Floyd

Floyd ducked his sparring daddy Morales out of fear

Erik Morales would have been knocked out by Floyd. Remember when Morales fought Raheem? He told the HBO crew that he has never faced that style before of the slick fighters and that he would be able to handle it and he got his ass boxed damn near to death in that ring. He couldn't beat Floyd and that's that.

Mayweather had genuinely outgrown 135lbs in that case, let alone 130lbs. Why is the weight gymnastics necessary?

Mayweather shamefully ducked prime Pacquiao, Margarito and Williams - high output fighters who posed stylistic threats, the Morales thing can be set aside.

Ok fine. I'm just saying a little of his own medicine could have been in order.

Corrales went to hell and back to make 130 pounds again for Floyd.
