Would you guys consider Mosley slick (I know he was past prime against Floyd)?

Definitely not when Floyd fought him. I wouldn't call Mosley slick, but I'd say he was an athletic fighter with lots of speed & volume punching.

Amir Khan is the complete opposite of slick my friend. Other than Malinaggi I wouldn't consider any of these guys slick nor was anyone calling for these fights to happen. Why make a random observation 20 years later that they never did?

I wouldnt call Clotteys style as slick but he had a more effective defense than Mosley thats for sure. Clotteys high guard was hard to penetrate as for Mosley he had a lot of great attributes like speed, power and a terrific chin but he wasnt hard to hit even in his prime he got hit plenty

Clottey was a statue. That isn't slickness.

Did i said he was slick? I said he was harder to hit than Mosley and anyone who knows anything about boxing agrees with that.

Anyway, giving a serious answer, Lara and especially Andrade would've been stiff challenges at 154. Floyd was old and outsized, and they brought little money to the table, so that can't be held against him.

I do think Floyd screwed up by not fighting Martinez at 160. It would've been a pretty easy win and he would've been lineal in another division. But I have no doubt that haters wouldve written it off due to Sergio being faded by then.

Stevie, Derrick Gainer, and any of those guys presented little challenge.

A Spadafora fight wouldve happened and Floyd wouldve won easily, but Spaddy screwed his career up instead. It wouldve been around the time of the Gatti fight.

Spinks posed little threat and removed himself from the picture by getting knocked out by Judah, who floyd would fight, and moving to 154.

Back on topic, chief. This thread is about slickness.

Ear muff defense is **** against elite fighters. It's why Clottey was exposed in predictable fashion by Pac.

If you're comparing Winky Wright's defense to Clottey's you're a fool. There are a few, or a million, wrinkles there that you're missing.

Winky also had zero elite wins by my count and got tooled by Paul Williams, who knew that throwing a bunch of punches would be good enough.

So Trinidad and Mosley werent elite lmao.

And Winky was shot to pieces when he fought Williams a guy that your hero Floyd avoided like the plague but anyway i see im dealing with a fanboy and from experience theres nothing to gain by talking to a fanboy.

Take care and hope you get better.

You must be triggered over there.

Mosley was trying to fight at 154 and was fresh off getting his ass beat at 147. I predicted the result of the Winky fight.

Tito was a few years past getting outclassed by Hopkins and had spent a couple years eating too many plates of rice at the beach instead of fighting. I predicted that result.

Mayweather dealt with being a past prime by moving in and out of range, setting up counters then disappearing, other times throwing lead rights or jabs to the body and disappearing.

Winky Wright dealt with being past prime by putting up the earmuffs and losing 12-0 to a wide open Pail Williams.

    Winky had zero elite wins.
