    'Cos he knows how fickle the press are and how they were gonna just shoot Pav down for being overrated, and 'cos he actually respects Pav for being a decent kid and not just a mouthy mofo, and also to get satisfaction from the dominating win

    I say give him the benefit of the doubt. People will always point out what an ******* he is. But if he does something nice we just dismiss it as patronage. Can't win!

    Because Hopkins didn't want him to lose hope since Pavlik was looked at as the future of boxing going in and a loss to an old man in one-sided fashion could kill his desire or interest.

    2- He knows how devestating the first loss of a young fighter can be(especially in that fashion)
