Why did Hyrgovic land the right hand at will but Joshua couldn't?

This is the big question? How many moronic people in the lead up to the fight repeated this line as to why Joshua would win?

Why is it that Hyrgovic could land the right hand at will but Joshua barely landed it at all in 5 rounds?

Joshua was tentative. He missed one right hand in round 1 and seconds later got caught with a huge overhand right. He never fully recovered from that shot.

Hrgovic has an iron jaw. Best in the division. He can stay on balance even when someone lands a big shot on him.

Joshua does not have a great chin. His legs were not fully underneath him. He was off balance because he was partly concussed from round 1. Try and land a right hand even when shadow boxing if you are partially concussed. Doesn't work.

Joshua did land a right in round 5 and had Dubois retreating and then decided to throw a massively telegraphed uppercut that made even Buster Douglas's terrible uppercut vs Holyfield look like a perfect shot.

So to answer your question, Joshua does not have the ability to land a big right with any consistency once his legs are not on balance.

Hrgovic was willing to hold his ground and be in range to land punches, Joshua was nervous the whole time, overreacting and not in range because he didn’t want to get hit.

Because the fool with Dubois has preferred to fight holding the head too back to not get hit hard, unfortunately he got the opposite effect. He got reached and bombed from any angle without any possibility to find a way to land the right hand.

    I can answer this,
Dubios boxes with wide arms that aren't close to his sides as a result this Is quite effective when parrying/blocking straight rights.
But how did Hgrovic land you say?
Because he's smarter than you think.
Having sparred Dubois in the past he was well aware of his blocking technique and threw right in an almost bolow punch, chopping it up and over.
He landed often but didn't have AJ's power.
Usyk stopped Dubois by throwing jabs over Dubois defence, he had the feet to get in and out.
Hrgovic, despite having a great chin got tired.
    Game over.
PS I believe AJ was already hurt by jabs that made him stand up too straight and made him vulnerable to big rights. After the first knock down he was a sitting duck. AJ rightly does not have faith in his chin and can never beat an aggressive fighter with a good chin who's nearly the same size as him.

Because Hrgovic is probably considerably better than AJ. Hrgovic might very well win a Dubois rematch. Not that Hrgovic deserves a rematch but I'd rather see that than Dubois v AJ 2.

Hrgovic throws more unorthodox punches than AJ, AJ is fairly predictable. Also, I think Dubois ability to eat Hrgovics right hand at will shook AJs confidence in his own right hand, probably realising he wasn't going to wipe DDD out in one shot.

Plus, Dubois last two fights were against physical big men as opposed to AJs last two, Ngannou being easier to keep at the desired range on account of him being an MMA fighter in a boxing ring, and while Wallin is a big guy, he's not an imposing physical guy in the way Miller and Hrgovic are

Hrgovic has an amazing 1-2 in his own right. He also didn't load up nearly as much as AJ

Dubios made adjustments after the Hrgovic fight he learned from it.

Dubios felt it, wasn’t bothered and mowed Hrgovic down.

Joshua was obviously not mentally right, and that is no excuse...Dubois came ready to fight and earned a great victory. But Joshua's head ain't right.

Still doesn't change the fact that your girlfriend still lost to Dubois

Hrgovic is willing to stand his ground and exchange shots to land his own and his right hand is straighter than Joshua's. Joshua in contrast was tentative from the opening bell and backing up allowing Dubois to do what he does best and go forward, so often Joshua was falling short with his right hand when he did dare to throw it.

Also Dubois hadn't learned to counter yet in the Hrgovic fight, so Hrgovic could risk coming forward a lot more.
