It was obvious that it wouldnt take much to open them up and it didnt so why come into this fight in that condition? Why not give it a bit more time to heal?
Was he cut in his last fight??? If not then the third Marquez fight was a while ago and if his eyes werent healed fully by then, then I doubt they would be in the future.
Yeah, he was cut in his last fight against a guy who'd lost six straight fights, five by knockout, all of those knockouts coming earlier than Vazquez could do it. It was pretty sad.
Agreed 26 months had past since the last Marquez-Vazquez fight and about 6-7 since the fight vs the journeymen. Those eyes are not just going to heal naturally the damage was done along time ago. Vazquez needs to see a surgeon and try to fix some of the damage or he shouldnt box agian his eye sight is at to much risk.
The left eye started vs a journeymen in which shows in the Marquez 4th fight that it wasn't heal right. But in all fairness Marquez would still won anyway. But it just shows that Vazquez got more heart then brain.
Why? Pride and/or Money. He shouldn't have ever fought again though, his eyes are too damaged and only a surgeon can fix that damage.
They both got paid career high paydays. I'm no eye specialist but the above posts seem on point...he took a long time off, had surgeries done, it wasn't as if he was rushed into a fight after having a cut (Campas-Marquez).
