Bivins was basically the light heavyweight and heavyweight champion during the war, beating Lesnevich, Charles, Moore, Marshall, Pastor, Christoforidis, Savold and others.

His 42-46 run was legendary, but after 1946 Bivins would never come near those heights again. But why?

Good question. He was born in December of 1919, so by 1947, would have been 27 years old for most of the year. An age which is considered prime. Perhaps it was the wear and tear and not so much the age.
