Why did Jimmy Young resort to sticking his head through the ropes only against Ali but no-one else?

A bizarre plan from Young to constantly and repeatedly stick his head through the ropes against an ageing and declining champ who has gone through many wars at that point of time yet he never done it against much harder punchers such as Lyle, Cooney, Foreman, Dokes and Norton?

Just why? what was the reason for it?

Young did it constantly throughout the mid-late rounds and the ref only counted as a knockdown in the 12th round.

Regardless this was a dreadful title bout at the end of the day, just another ranked contender in Ali's already ridiculously stacked resume, this time #2 ranked Young.

he didn't do it constantly. I did here him say he did it to ease the pressure, or something like that, but I really don't even think he meant that. He seemed to do it for no reason. He wasn't hurt, or being beat up at all. I think he was just having fun. He did some funny things in the ring, made funny faces, would all the sudden turn and take a walk. Things like that. Also, was not a dreadful fight, was a boxing lessen given by Jimmy Young.

His lack of balls blew him the chance at beating fat-as-hog Ali. He learned the lesson by heart as seen in his subsequent bouts.

Control over the controller. Tricking the trickster. Stealing momentum from the showman.

Jimmy Young genuinely is my great uncle, I’d appreciate it if you don’t waste everyone’s time bag mouthing a good man and an honest pro like you have the right.

Great uncle Jimmy said it was meant to be comedic, he was doing it as an exaggerated Rope-A-Dope to insult Muhammad Ali.

I did n't realise that Usyk was that well known prior to 2005. That was when Jimmy died.

If Mills Lane had been the referee on the night of April 30 1976, Jimmy Young would have been given a warning to that behavior, and if that behavior continued by Young, a point would have been deducted. Then if that act of sticking his head outside the ropes continued, a DQ would have been awarded to Ali, I get it Young does not like to get hit but come on, figure out another type of legal strategy to avoid a DQ. The Rope A Dope also could border on a stoppage of the fight, a very strict referee might have viewed it as a defenseless fighter that is being badly hurt, thus forcing a stoppage. But sticking out your head too could be viewed as an act of defenseless fighter getting battered too.
