There's a time 'n tide for all things. Joe just had enough -- the fire was gone.

Should have given Bernard a rematch.

Other than that, he had every right to retire. It's his career.

What same as that Foreman & Ali fancy not making a comeback to knock the **** out of those over rated Klitchkos!!!!!!!

****ing cabbage he's been retired nearly 5 years FFS only a moron would come back after 5 years, look at the difference in Hatton after much less time than that out of the ring.

He was already fading at 36 years old. He didn't have the hunger to fight young or unknowns guys anymore, He already fought all the names and Froch was a up and coming fighter at that time. Maybe a retirement fight with Glen Johnson or Antonio Tarver would had been OK. The only two names i think was around the time Joe was active, Dawson was still unknown.

Theres a point your missing and that was severe damage to his hands, he was told by a doctor that if he continued he would lose the use of his hands, so yes a great time to retire

Well youve exposed yourself here as a true Calzaghe hater in sheeps clothing and a true Ward nuthugger.

If Ward fought a prime calzaghe he would get worn down a tire out and Calzaghe would over run him. Heart , workrate, stamina and punches coming from all angles taking eveything ward could deal out. Wards engine is only 1/3 of what Calzaghes was
