It's called "cashing out" at the end of your career.

Jones, Hopkins, and Calzaghe (among others) are all guilty of it.

    i agree.

Calzaghe beat some old men and some still think Bernard beat him at 43 years old

Plain and simple they saw the danger, only one American was willing to take the risk.

the answer is that between hopkins, jones, and toney, the only good middleweights/super middleweights they disposed of his mike mccallum and micheal nunn, the rest were tomato cans.

so why did they not feel the need to come to britain and fight the best - benn, eubank, and calzaghe?

why did the brainwashed american public not demand this?

    its no joke

    its actually a good thread

the thread author is just using the standards that USA fans use to judge UK fighters and turning the tables so UK fans can judge American fighters the same way to show what hyporcrites they are

instead of why did this protected UK fighter stay in the UK instead of coming to the USA

    it is

why did that protected USA fighter stay in the USA instead of coming to the UK

I can't believe that old chestnut "America is the mecca of boxing and all overseas fighters have to come to her shores to prove themselves" hasn't been dragged out yet

Jones and Hopkins were so scared of Calzaghe before he had beaten Lacy and Kessler that they decided to wait until they were in their forties to fight him.

Well most people put Eubank and Benn about Par, give or take, at their peaks with Calzaghe, and considering Calzaghe is taking out all the American 'legends' and young hypejobs on his own then this is a VERY valid question.
