Was Parker’s movement an issue ? Will Joshua fight the same way against Usyk and if so what are his chances of winning?
Well this is only my opinion and im sure Stephanie and her new boyfriend Davoo will tell you im wrong and Joshua is a coward and thats the reason. But i think he was under the impression it would be Deontay after Parker and he didnt want to slip up 1 fight from his goal. So he played it safe, its as simple as that, he played it safe, fought with safety in mind and would only go for the KO when parker was willing to come at him and leave big gaps. Parker never did that so Joshua stuck to plan and kept going till the 12th for a very comfortable victory. Unforunatly Shelley Peanut head Finkel is a massive chicken and has been hiding Wilder from serious threats so it never happened anyway. But lets get a couple of things straight, 1, Parker is not feather fisted and 2 Uysk is nothing like Joseph Parker so i dont really know why you chose that fight to try imagine how a Uysk fight goes.
He's learning how to box. He's doing it on the job. No point going in 100 miles an hour every fight and not having a plan b when the other guy is still standing (like against Klitschko).
Parker fought for survival, he was very negative in that fight. Gave up his title without a fight. At least Povetkin went for it.
Joshua doesn't trust his chin. That's why he was cautious vs Parker. Povetkin hurt Joshua a bit. I don't think Usyk hits hard enough to bother Joshua with one or two big shots, so he'll need to be aggressive here.
Good thread, it's exactly the question I asked myself relating to a potential AJ Usyk matchup. I think Parker might have slightly more power than Usyk, and might be slightly larger, but apart from that, Usyk is basically superior to Parker in every way. And if Parker gave AJ such fits, what would Usyk do using a related, if superior, style? Still think AJ wins but the Parker fight gives me pause. Hopefully he'll be more aggressive than he was vs Parker.
