Visa issues, coupled with FW looking out for him. Mitchell would get beaten up pretty badly. He should be thankful that it's Murray being sacrificed, and not him.

Mitchell has the better end of the bargain if he ends up fighting Burns....

I think the visa thing is just an excuse. ****** doesn't want to risk either of his top lightweights on Rios and so he put Murray in. May be cynical of me also bit I think ****** really needed to ensure he got this card on boxnation to help subs. They don't really have anything else for December.

Just curious do people know if Tibbs has been in America with fighters? He did time for manslaughter didn't he, just wondering would he be left in?

He can't travel to the us atm.

Him against burns is a good fight that will probably be for the vacant wbo belt. That way a unification has more pull and could sell out an arena on it's own strength.

If they (rios and mitchell) win their next fights the ring might even throw in their belt if they face off.

US customs is weird - you'd have more chance with a violence-related charge than a drug-related one.

Mitchell couldn't be considered for the Rios fight because he was caught with a knife in his car and arrested. With a possible jail sentence hanging over him and his future uncertain, Fwank had to give the Rios shot to the next best candidate. Mitchell would later avoid jail, thanks in part to Wawwen's letter to the court testifying what a devastating effect prison would have on Kevin's career. Mitchell was given 3 months of community service, and is not allowed to leave the country until this is finished. Rumour is Fwank offered Mitchell a "keep busy" fight, which Mitchell rejected as he saw it as a huge step down considering the Rios fight he almost had.

I think the visa thing is an excuse.
I know quite a few lads with convictions for all sorts get into usa,
one lad who trains at my place, who was on prison license for drug dealing, has just come back from there.
