really? I think you may have mistaken this fight with another, Judah had a good 1st round, but Tszyu figured him out by the midway point of the 2nd, which lead to the KO

Tszyu was the clearly better fighter. One good round, then a pretty even round where-in you end up getting KO'd is hardly inconclusive.

Plus Judah didn't deserve a rematch after how he acted after getting stopped. Assaulting the ref? Throwing his stool at someone? Storming around the ring screaming and crying?

People say Pac doesn't deserve a rematch simply because he said he injured his shoulder, lol. What then of Judah?

-disclaimer pls don't turn this into a pacweather thread, it was just the first example that came to mind ;_;-

I saw that fight live on PPV and was routing at the time for Zab and was shocked Kosta beat him like that. at the time I didn't know much about Kosta but did follow Zab and think Zab was beating him to the punch in the 1st round and won it, but boy did Kosta lay him out. Then Zab going ghetto on Nady. lol Nady probably would have murdered Zab lol

Zab was acting like a total a-hole towards Tszu from the beginning, so Kostya told him to **** off with a rematch clause (which zab didn't want to sign before the first right). Zab even wrote a letter of apology to Kostya but he didn't care.

There could have been a rematch.. Judah was lighting him up in the first round, and the majority of the second before he got clipped.. i think after that fight, he didnt stay at 140 that long after.. he moved up a few fight after IIRC..

There are many reasons why there was no rematch

    1. Judah said "winner take all" during the press conference. He was so confident, he didn't asked to have a rematch clause.

    2. After the fight, Judah was suspended for a long time following his outburst and he was out of the ring for 1.5 years. He never put himself into the position for a rematch when Tszyu was still active.

The knock out was hardly a fluke. Tszyu was known for his timing and Judah was known for not keeping his hands up. The head cannot outrun the fist. Tszyu threw that punch twice in the 10 seconds leading up to the knock out. He knew where Judah's head was going to be and the 2nd punch landed right on the button.

Even by Floyd groupie standards this lamebrain's grotesqueness and stupidity has always been conspicuous. Badly in need of a good stomping me thinks.

Tszyu would have knocked Judah out once again, I guess Judah got tired of doing the "Funky Chicken" dance that he made famous.............

Yep. Judah stated that the bout was a winner-take-all affair. And who cares if Judah won the first? Tszyu won the second up until the point of stoppage and then provided us with one of the most comical knockouts ever--and post-fight tantrums, for that matter.

I remember an interview where Zab was clowning Sharmba Mitchell for not fighting the right fight against Tszyu. Then he get's knocked out in the 2nd round. You just have to laugh at that kind of thing.

I never understood that whole....zab was kicking his ass the first round ****.
He won the round but even towards the end you could see zoo was starting to time him.

Second round he did time him and BAM.
    Shows over.

    How the fight actually went.

    Round 1 .

Zab came out with his usual dazzling speed and was so quick he was even able to land lead uppercuts. At no point however was Tzyu in trouble. It was more the speed than the power that won Judah the 1st round.

It was a clear 10 - 9 round on all cards.

    Round 2.

Tszyu now knew what6 he was up against and started to close the gap with strong hard jabs that kept Judah a bit more honest. As the round went on it was clear to see that Judah had never been in with this level of competition before and wasnt quite sure what to do. As he was the much better athlete and didn't think the robotic Kostya could actually land these perfectly timed straight punches.

With about 20 seconds to go in the round with Judah backing away with his hands down he was clipped by a hard right which drew 'oooooowwwwwwssss' from the crowd , 2 seconds later Kostya landed the Howitzer. Judah was dropped very hard, got up too quickly but was clearly hurt, then fell again. Fight over.

    No controversy no rematch.

    Peace.
