Pryor was a 140lber, Leonard a big 147lber. Having said that, Aaron the hawk Pryor would of murdered him and hearns. The hawk was king!

Leonard didn't really want to fight Pryor and Pryor made it easy by asking for a certain amount of cash so that gave leonard a get out . Leonard was happy to earn a bit less fighting others

way different divisions, especially considering the time frame they could have fought. pryor could had went up and srl could had went down but that's a very tough fight to make working with rival every things and completely separate divisions

You can find him beating Thomas Hearns up in the ams on youtube. He was great but his reputation is tainted because of Panama Lewis. This footage in the amateurs shows he was always a beast

The fight was supposed to happen but injuries and a tight timeframe of when they were similar weight made it impossible. would have been a great fight. If you want to include a 5th to the fab 4 it would have to be Wilfredo Benitez, great defensive fighter.

Pryor turned down $750,000 (just over two million dollars today) to fight Leonard (that was an improved offer from the initial $500,000 offer) and then turned down the same amount to fight Duran about a month later.

These are factual, verifiable statements, as opposed to a baseless myth that HBO spawned over a decade ago. Based on actual evidence, not only is the very notion that Pryor was avoided by anyone a lie, but the man himself participated in the art of ducking and did so against the two best, most high profile fighters in the sport within the period of about a month.

    Nice try :rofl

How funny is it that Ray fought Hearns and Hagler?

That answers alll remaining questions. Ray Leonard ain't not "cherry picking" little Floyd

They were actually signed to fight.

Before it happened Leonard was diagnosed with a detached retina.

Wikipedia has a recounting of Pryor's reaction to the fact that the fight would not happen.

High risk low reward....and people in boxing would hear rumors I'm sure...if they did fight Ray would have won.
