lewis had lost his hunger for the sport bythis point. he had achieved so much there was no point in fighting on and risking his legacy. the only fight that would have been beneficial in hindsight would have been lewis vs wlad.

lets say lewis beat vitali in the rematch, he achieves nothing he already achieved. lets say vitali beats him in the rematch, he gets another loss and dents his legacy.

yes it was a close competitive fight, but everyone agrees it was a legit stoppage dont they?

it was a legit win tho. do you believe the fight should have continued?

it is like saying froch didnt beat taylor legit. yes lewis vs vitali was close, but lewis ripped his face to shreds and the fight was rightfully stopped.

Jesus...... they need to let this go.

If the fight had been allowed to go on Vitali would have been knocked out something rotten in round 7 or 8 - he was staggering round the ring like a drunk.

The ending was the best thing that could have happened - he always had the little get out that he was ahead on points.

In a rematch Lewis would take him seriously and beat him down. I don't see why people can't see it.

Vitali had his shot, and lost fair and square. His one shot to beat a great heavyweight and he lost.

    Deal with it, fanboys.

You make it sound as though Lennox Lewis vs. Vitali Klitschko W TKO6 is not a legitimate Win. It was. Get over it.

The only reason it might be considered a big victory for Lewis, is the context in which the bout was fought, i.e. Lewis was at the end of his career, uninterested, in the worst condition ever and essentially a past master.

Vitali was a Prime, hungry heavyweight that got beaten by the past master.

    Have a word with yourself.

The HBO commentary crew were horrendously biased in that fight, and Merchant's questions were pretty poor to say the least.

Lewis did the right thing keeping Vitali hanging and then retiring.

Vitali was parading around afterwards as if he'd won, and was constantly bitching about the outcome in the media claiming a ''moral victory'' - whatever that means..... it was just a complete lack of class and respect.

He was stopped fair and square.

Look at the state of hes face. He was lucky that ref stopped the match.
He had like six cuts and he was bleeding from hes mouth.

But then everybody (except KlitItes) remembered that champions don’t usually give rematches to challengers.

    Great victory for Lewis
I like to take this time and congratulate him for stopping Vitali in six rounds.

    :rofl

Yeah - I could tell Lewis was really scared by the way he kept landing on Vitali, the heavy bag with arms and legs. The most surprised I saw Lewis, throughout the entire evening, was when Larry 'Wind Up' Merchant was at his dry best in challenging Lewis' clear superiority. Good old Larry. :yep

Poor old Vitali looked more like the victim of a traffic accident than a defeated Boxer. He was probably delirious at the time he gave his interview and subsequent interviews, trying to convince himself that he had won because he was ahead on the scorecards at the time. Seems to have rubbed off on Vitali fans too this whole idea that Lewis had somehow been beaten by stopping Vitali in the 6th Round. :verysad

Lewis did Vitali a favour by retiring. It meant he avoided getting run over by a truck again and, at the same time, Lewis left a division behind him, bereft of Heavyweight talent, for Vitali and his brother to knock over and make some good money. :thumbsup

Vitali and his fans should be thanking Lewis. :smooch

    Lewis W by TKO6. :hi:

    Raped?

The only big round of the fight was the 2nd (and the 6th for Lewis)..... the remainder of the first four could go either way, but people with an agenda just assume they were all big Klitschko rounds and that Lewis stole the next two :patsch

It wasn't as if it was a paint job and a bull**** stoppage.

Frank Bruno was beating Lennox as well, where was that rematch?

    Or does that not count?

    :yep

VITLAY has this high KO percentage and threw everything at a fat old Lewis, but yet couldn't even take him off his feet, let alone stop him.

You are either a troll or ******. I can't quite figure out which. :think
