So I take you neglected to even remeber Lewis hurting Vitali badly with those uppercuts?

You can laugh all of you want to but your bias opinion will never outweight facts!:rofl

people saying stopped him like he flattened him out. heh.
stop trying to bend history - the doctor stopped the fight, vitali wanted to fight on.

:patsch Of course he deserved a rematch but at the end of the day, why should somebody be forced to render a rematch if he's lost his will and hunger to stay on top??

Thats what you're basically saying in so many words...If he wanted to retire without giving him a rematch then he has every right to do so.

i do, but i respect lewis's choice. he did win, he was set to retire, and vitali was a live one.

not to say i wasn't bitterly disappointed in the lack of the rematch, that could easliy have been an ATG.

The bottom line is that Vitali had a great opportunity against the worst version of Lewis ever and he fell short. That is the end of it.

This is a great question because I don't remember anyone ever discussing it before.

I'll never complain when a fighter wants to call it quits, just appreciate the fights they gave us and wish them well.

He was past his prime, fat and just won a war by cuts which he could have lost. The smartest thing he could have done was to retire, because he had nothing else to prove and wasnt in his prime, and a loss to Vitali would somehow damage his legacy.
