Baldo kept his title and made an easy defense against Gatti.

Zahir lost his title in his next fight, and moved up in weight.

Baldo is hardly a fighter people give May much credit for beating anyway.

Raheem himsef was giving little credit for beating Morales. It was named upset of the year but Morales maintained his P4P rating and Raheem never cracked the top 5 in his own divison.

mongoose, i seem to remember that ass brian kenny, blasting floyd about avoiding baldomir, do you?

  5. Zaheer's problem was he did not make the best out of beating Erik and carried his momentum, it should be noted that by the time that PAC went up at 135, Zaheer was a non entity at the Division ...

    also
Mayweather Jr. gets slack for moving ahead with a fight with Judah even after Judah lost to Baldomir. Judah was expected to win and be THE formidable opponent for Mayweather as the undisputed welterweight champion. There was still money to be made and intrigue vs a fast, young, talented southpaw with pop in Judah. So he went that route since a lot was probably already setup for that fight before eventually facing Baldomir.

In Manny's case, Morales lost, yet Manny still went for the loser, Morales because like Floyd/Judah, there was still money to be made, intrigue in the fight vs Morales who had beaten him. Yet Manny and Raheem didn't fight.

Mayweather gets slack for moving ahead with the originally planned fight that was all but setup, but Manny doesn't?

I have no idea but if so, that is stupid.

The only difference between Baldo and Raheem, is Baldo managed to milk the upset cow a little better and stay in position for a big fight.

But both men were just journeyman who caught an ill prepared star on a bad night. Splash in the pans. Happens.

Because Judah really wasn't the real Champion, he lost to Baldo. May still needed to beat Baldo to call himself the real WW Champion.

Morales loss at Lightweight, didn't effect his standing as the WBC Super Featherweight Champion. Pac wasn't campaigning at LW, he was rated as a Super Feather.

Pacquiao ducked Raheem and everybody in boxing knows it, FACT!! I can still remember that petrified look on Pac's face when he was in the locker room watching Morales get his ass handed to him by a "pure boxer"

Slippery movers like Raheem are seldom considered as opponents by elites unless these types are universallly considered by the boxing community to be the best of a division, and even then a fighter like Pacquiao would have exhausted all avenues not to fight such a fighter.

Imo, Morales was a fool to have fought Raheem in the first place, he's too slow of foot to cut the ring off on a rabbit like Raheem.

Zahir Raheem boxed Erik easily . He would have UD Manny too. Proof is in the pudding.

Pac fighting Raheem = Pac ducking Morales

Pac fighting Morales = Pac ducking Raheem

therefore: Raheem an ATG that PAc avoided

    sincerely,
