he has no chance against Fury...none

Fury actually ate a couple of right hands from Wilder in round 1 and 2 and nothing...Wilder's power is massively overrated

Ortiz is class tho. Wouldn,t really say he should of won it....he missed out on an oppertunity to win it but wilder pretty much proved conclusively in the first fight and the rematch he was the better man. pretty sure the extra time to recover was in the rules anyway.

Regardless tho ortiz is a class fighter one of the most skilled men in the division. But he is predominately a counterpuncher. Wilder used great tactics by lowering his output....using his length advantage and still getting the job done. Ortiz had the same problem of getting inside on wilder as most do. He got inside tho because hes a very skilled fighter....but he couldn,t do enough damage on wilder to end it because he had to always be aware of the threat wilder posed. And it ended up badly for him because of it.

Wilder was always a protected fighter. From day one. A carefully manufactured guy who his handlers knew would never survive at elite level.

As you say though he could get in because he could throw combinations. The template was there for someone with a decent skillset who wasn't pushing 40 to do likewise.

You have to say the matchmaking was very clever over the years until the Fury miscalculation. Even then, I know I expected Wilder to be a step too soon for a returning Fury to overcome.

    Totally agree mate.

Perfect matchmaking. I was the same watched one or two of furys initial comeback fights and fully expected wilder to beat him as well. Fury was meant to be part of that clever matchmaking i reckon. Good name that had seen much better days.

Never foreseen fury being able to come back the way he did.

Would have been interesting to have seen povetkin v wilder when they we,re due to fight 4 or 5 years ago as well. Povetkin is decent at getting in on the inside and puts his punches together pretty well. Would have been a good fight. Povetkin hsd a better engine bsck then. Still reckon smaller shorter reached guys will have problems with wilder.

Did they think Wilder was a great fighter? Like really? Cause most everyone has said he was garbage with a war crime of a right hand and nothing else. From Teddy Atlas all the way to Wilder himself who kept saying that his opponents had to be perfect for twelve rounds and he only had to be for two seconds. I honestly can’t think of anyone who said he was great other than trolls.

We're counting Wilder out here kind of early. Give him a chance to redeem himself, people.

I come on here seeing topics like this, people trumpeting Fury as a top ten ATG. It all seems....well, a bit premature.

At least give each man another year and a half. Fury's only big victory by far was over Wilder (old man Klitschko doesn't count). Wilder doesn't even have that.

Yeah I'm old, but I stand firm on this: give them each more time.

If Wilder's punch is nothing how come he made Fury unconscious in the first fight?
