Why did Margarito get his license back and not Panama Lewis?

Lewis & Resto removed "Padding" from the gloves + Dipped their hand wraps in "Plaster".

Capetillo & Margarito used a old knuckleguard (Folded gauze).

One was used, The other was not.

    No comparison.

    Agreed.

Still being suspended in one state and getting a license in another is strange.

It is but I don't think there was enough evidence to ban Margarito from any state. There is no proof Margarito did anything wrong, so he was found guilty by association. That's not the way it should be, I don't think. If you're friends with a guy who robs a bank, you can't be found guilty because you may or may not have known about it. Nobody can prove Margarito knew anything, so it's harsh to punish him.

I think he was punished in one state because, like I said earlier, in cases like this, heads have to roll. It wouldn't have been enough for Capetillo to be suspended alone. Margarito was always going to take the bullet otherwise the SAC would look weak.

People always write Margarito off as a cheat but I wonder whether they've considered the fact he could be innocent. Can you imagine what he's had to go through if he genuinely didn't know what was happening? A tarnished legacy, a year off, being blackballed by certain people, hated by some fans - And all without any solid proof he knew anything.

    For the record.

Lewis took 8oz of padding out of each glove, and dipped Resto's wraps in plaster of paris, which would stay wet while wrapped, but would harden and become rock solid.

So he was essentially hitting Billy Collins n the face with bricks for 10 rounds.

I assume the difference between the time they received, is equivalent to being caught with a gun, and shooting someone and then being caught.

Resto was literally charged with assault, conspiracy to commit assault, and criminal possession of a weapon (his hands)
