vs floyd, he looked bloated, slow and ****.

now vs katsidis he weighed pretty much the same as he did vs floyd, but he looked razor sharp, lightning quick, tremendous combos and very good power.

what is the difference? Is it really all because floyd supposedly weighed in at 160? something that can't be verified?

or is it because floyd was able to negate marquez, which speaks voumes for talent?

or is it because marquez prepared badly for the fight nand his camp wasnt good enough?

either way i find it amazing his performances were so different considering the similarity in weight.

Marquez has always been top heavy and stocky up there. Mexicans don't have that super low body fat cut to **** look for whatever reason.

Just because you weigh the same doesn't mean you're in the same shape.

It has something to do with the opponent.

Jmm was the agressor on the mayweather fight and was countered. While katsidis has always been an offensive fighter which fits the mold of ideal opponent for jmm.

Against John who is also a counterpuncher, jmm has problems. I am not saying he lost but definitely jmm does very well against agreessive fighters.

well he was 142 in the weigh in yes?

The huge weight difference and size ofc.. You got 2 boxers with a similar style ofc the one who got longer reach, height and weight gonna win..

Also JMM trainer sayd he felt JMM was very slow in sparring upto the fight..

Personaly I dont think JMM took the fight seriously since he had nothing to lose and was gonna be payd alot.

I remember someone told me how much Marquez weighed against Floyd on fight night, but I don't remember. Do you remember how much he weighed on fight night against Katisdis? I haven't seen that fight yet.

probably because he tried to pack on extra weight. And his body at this point might be more accustomed to the higher weight.

    The rate of increased weight.

JMM had to increase his training and competitive weight at a higher rate. Developing usable muscles, not just for mass but for quick reaction and endurance, takes time.
