Why did Mayorga let Trinidad get free hits in the 1st round?

He was never the same after that Trinidad exchange. It could of been a better fight, felt Mayorga would of took advantage of Trinidad's inactivity and make it into a better fight.

Notice after that exchange, Mayorga was sluggish and looked drunk. He took a HELLISH beating during that fight. Tito's power is just scary, truly an ATG puncher.

Mayorga gave free shots to everyone he faced. Too bad he didn't expect Titos loaded gloves to have that much of an effect.

He didn't do that with Oscar and Oscar put him on his butt in the first round. Probably why.

I don't think Mayorga was the same going into that fight TBH. He wasn't as fast or crisp with his punches. Him giving not just one, but two free left hooks to tito was epic! But I do think that second one hurt him and affected the rest of the fight for him. Mayorga didn't do half bad either and had he not have done that, who knows.

Tell me more about these loaded gloves.

He wrapped his hands differently than what was allowed in NYC at the time when fighting Hopkins. ANYWHERE in the world it would of been legal, just not in NYC. Richardson noticed this, and Trinidad was simply asked to re-wrap his hand, that's the end of it. Why this is taken out of proportion by weirdos like you still boggles my mind. Pacquaio and Oscar De La Hoya wrapped their hands differently as well, were caught, and asked to re-wrap their gloves, no controversy involved.

3 years after the Hopkins fight, and Tito fights Mayorga. The first shot Trinidad lands has Mayorga drunk, and we're talking about a prime Mayorga too, who had the best chin in the business, was never hurt or appeared to be hurt. The SAME punches that Forrest rocked iron chinned Mosley with had no effect on Mayorga.

He was fine going into the fight. He should of entered the fight as the undisputed welterweight champion of the world, the Spinks fight was a robbery of epic proportions. Mayorga was a HUGE weight cutter, so making 160 did more good than bad.

The reason why he wasn't fast or crisp with his punches is due to being sluggish after a chunky Trinidad left hook in the first round. This was a man who was never hurt, supremely confident and had great punching power of his own.

That Spinks fight is a farce the way Spinks kept falling down to eat the clock.

Was definitely a farce, don't see how anyone could give Spinks that fight. Mayorga was the true undisputed 147 pound champ.

Mayorga tried to look like a macho man, really stupid for me, was hurt and didn't work.
Now, if you watch him doing that in the Forrest fight, that was some badass trick.

That was Mayorga's thing. He came up from the dirty, third world trash and does not give a **** about your manners. I've always liked him, I hope he invested well in Nicaragua living like a king somewhere.

That last left hook that he let Tito hit him with made him dance. He tried to dance it off but was hurt. He realized after that point that he couldn't let Tito hit him anymore.

Mayorga IMO didn't beat Forrest in the rematch and their first fight was stopped prematurely. So my point is Mayorga fooled a lot of people with his mouth that he could fight and the Forrest fight made him. All he had was power. He couldn't box a lick.
