Why did Mayweather take it easy on McGregor but go all out on Nasukawa?

Serious question. Mayweather could have done to McGregor the same thing he did to that Japanese Kickboxer Nasukawa. Yet Mayweather took it easy on McGregor but went HAM on Nasukawa from round 1. There were more reasons for Mayweather's approach towards McGregor to be much more serious and aggressive than his approach to Nasukawa:

    1. Mayweather Vs McGregor was a real fight on Mayweather's record, the Nasukawa fight was just an exhibition.
    2. Nasukawa was a 19 year old kid, not a prime 28 year old like McGregor was.
    3. Nasukawa was much smaller than Floyd, where as McGregor was quite a bit bigger than Floyd. It doesn't make sense to hold back on a bigger opponent, and yet go all out on a much smaller opponent.
    4. Nasukawa was respectful throughout the whole lead up to the fight. In contrast to McGregor who was his usual extremely disrespectful self throughout the whole build up to the fight.
    5. Both McGregor and Nasukawa caught Floyd in round 1, McGregor with that uppercut, and Nasukawa with a straight left. So you can't say that Floyd went HAM from round 1 against Nasukawa but not for McGregor because Nasukawa landed a punch on Floyd's face.

Did Floyd take it easy on McGregor and go all out on Nasukawa because McGregor is a thug and reminds Floyd of himself, or is there a more sinister motive why Floyd took it easy on McGregor, and went all out to knock out Nasukawa from round 1? This might be controversial but does Mayweather have animosity towards Asians?

Some may argue that McGregor was more of a threat, and that's why Mayweather showed him more respect, but Mayweather destroyed and stopped Gatti (an even greater threat) within 6 rounds so we know that Floyd doesn't care if you are a threat or not. There is no reason Floyd couldn't do the same to McGregor within 3 rounds.

If I remember the fight correctly, Floyd was doing his sparring partner routine with Tenshin too, but he got a little bit lively and tried to really go for Floyd (I think). To which obviously Floyd ok **** you that’s not our script. I only saw it once though, so I could be wrong.

People read the McGregor fight differently. I don’t think he took it too serious. Initially wanting to clown a little and then just went into sorting partner mode when you’ve got a much less skilled guy in with you (gloves up, stand in range). He didn’t really train for it either. He was out clubbing more or less every night of fight week. Both of those two knew they were being paid an insane amount for something with only one possible outcome.

I see, so Floyd is like one of those dogs that relentlessly attacks anything smaller than themselves. Sadly with the way Floyd's punches bothered Tenshin, I don't think Tenshin kicking would have made a meaningful difference, unless Floyd went into full diva mode because of it.

I saw that too. That's what I pointed out in 5. McGregor also tried to hurt Floyd from the get go, yet Floyd didn't try to blitz McGregor the same way he blitzed Nasukawa.

McGregor is a mean SOB, savage war machine. Floyd had to make sure he gassed first or he would have got KTFO.

Floyd looked terrible in the Tenshin fight.

Literally looked like he hadn't trained. the disparity was just that big, that he could just steam role the guy.

McGregor was way bigger and much more experienced than the Japanese kid.

Think there would be more backlash if he took mcgregor out in a round. Its was a pretty hyped fight in comparison to the japanese fight. Probably big in japan...but floyd knows they,d probably worship him more if he took him out early over there. Whereas the west would have been up in arms after paying 20 quid or whatever.

He pretty much played it to the script.

I did Kickboxing for about five years so I can throw one (sloppily, I was always better with my hands than feet) and have received my fair share too.

Definitely not a fun experience looool

I'm sure McGregor had a hidden/secret stipulation/verbal agreement that Mayweather would need to carry him so as not to make him look toobad. Any other fighter between 135-160 would have sparked McConnor within three rounds, including Mayweather himself.

Wasn't the fight in Japan only scheduled for 4 rounds? Floyd probably felt he had to rush the KO.
