Why did Morales force Pacquiao to wear Winning gloves the first time?

pacquiao's power wasnt that important to his opponents yet. morales is more comfortable with winning gloves coz it has more pads. he just wants it to be even for both of them. he chose winning coz he prefers it and not bcoz of pacquiao.

Moving up in weight is a massive challenge (usually) for a boxer...if you compare that to the affect a certain type of glove has on the outcome of a bout, the latter is not significant at all.

Also, it was Pacquiao's decision to move up in weight...and usually when a boxer moves up in weight, they don't tend to get the advantage when it comes to picking ring size, gloves, etc. Morales was the bigger star back then, if he wanted to...he probably could have dictated everything leading up to that bout (he maybe did, I don't know the ins and outs).

But like I've said before...it's an excuse, all boxers have excuses when they lose. If Morales was contractually obliged to wear Reyes gloves for that bout, and lost (I doubt he would have complained afterwards), and people brought it up saying, "Morales was the bigger star, Pacquiao was moving up in weight...he shouldn't have been allowed to dictate terms, and not allow Morales to wear his preferred gloves"...people would have seen that as an excuse, and a way of taking the shine off of an impressive win.
