Yep. Mosley pretty much said the blood tests didn't affect him on 24/7. In fact Shane said he was willing give blood every day if needed. At least, he doesn't make up superstitious **** like Pac.
Bottom line is if Mosley gave blood day before the fight and PBF didn't then yeah, that just might turn you into a zombie against a guy at full strength.
Sounds like Shane said, "you know it sapped my power though, right?". Hard to hear exactly what he said with Larry Merchant on the mic. This content is protected [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA2h7xVblBA[/ame]
You'd have to be pretty ignorant to really believe that. Your body can regenrate that blood in under an hour.
Floyd is so good that even random chance favors him. I guess he truly is gifted. Why should they be tested at the same time? What if they are 12 timezones apart (like, say, Manila and Vegas)? What about year round spot tests, when a guy doesn't necessarily have a fight lined up? What about the concern that showing up to test one fighter alerts the other that a test is coming? What about finding something other than irrelevant bull**** to get all panty-twisted about? Do you consider a coin toss fair despite the fact that if you flip a coin 100 times you aren't guaranteed to get exactly 50 heads and 50 tails? Fair and equal do not mean the same thing.
Didn't sound like he said 'sapped'... It is hard to hear. Ditto. It actually almost sounds like he said 'same exact' or something to that extent(combination of listening closely and reading his lips).
If you want to avoid problems just test them the same amount and at the same day for both but in random fashion. You guys would be bitching if floyd lost because he was tested more than mosley. Here how you would do it... Create random date/time, 10-20 it doesnt matter. For each date/time both boxers are tested. You cant get any fairer than that can you? Of course someone gonna ***** about the cost to have 2 teams testing the boxers. :bart
True, random visits from two teams to both fighters at same time and for same tests. That's what we were led to believe.
So ****ing what if they are 12hrs apart, you can still adjust the time when to test them such that it is fair for both. atsch You are only agreeing now because it favoured floyd Got to love the *****s, so predictable in every way :nut
Can you please show me where any authority stated that the procedure was as described? The organization doing the tests doesn't give a **** about "fairness" in the sense that you are describing it. They traditionally test hundreds of athletes at a time, both in and out of competition, and they certainly don't make sure to hit every guy equally. They could change the procedure for boxing, but why give credence to the idea that a measly couple of teaspoons of blood is going to be so debilitating to performance that an extra test for one guy is the difference between victory and defeat? Then they are just admitting that blood testing has deleterious effects on performance, and giving athletes reason to complain about having to do it. ****ing sychronized swimmers do this **** and boxers are the ones bitching and whining? It's a sad state.
Actually, it's not that idiotic a statement. When you're dealing with a limited timeframe, there's a very good chance two people taking random blood tests won't end up with an equal number of blood tests. It's not guaranteed, of course, but it shows that the randomization of it works. Remember, Mosley's last test looked like it was a couple of days before the fight. The only way it can be "controlled random" (meaning a guaranteed number of tests taken randomly) would be to do something like "one test per week on a random day". But other than that, you can't have a reliable random algorithm AND promise an equal number of tests. It just doesn't work mathematically. *Edit - or you can *try* to do what you proposed above and have them synchronize the random test so that there's one random schedule when both boxers are tested at the same time, but another poster made a good point when he said that it's almost impossible to synchronize to the minute, and anything else and it becomes too easy to tip off someone that the testers are in the other camp, so heads up and dump the drugs in the toilet. I'd actually be more suspicious of the randomization of it if they had an exact equal number of tests and all around the same day.
In this context, I believe it is unfair because I suspect that who gets tested more isn't truly random at all. I'm not surprised that Mosley was tested more than Floyd, and I'll guarantee that if/when that fight gets made, Pacquiao will get tested more. It doesn't mean I think Pac shouldn't still agree at the end of the day, though. I just wish both guys and their respective camps would get over themselves and make the damn fight happen. If this fight doesn't happen over a stupid 10 day window, I'm holding both of them at fault.
Nope it be difficult for them to understand until floyd is at disadvantage and lost the fight. You watch this forum explode after floyd get his firts KO because he got unlucky and was tested more or nearer to the fight than the other guy.
