I notice when I watch muhammad ali fights he always punches to the head and very rare or never does he punch to the midsection Also do you think his alzhemiers was caused by boxing
the majority of the videos I seen he punches to the head always very rarer why not hook to the body why just the jab
It's risky going tp the body, since you expose yourself to counters. Ali saw no reason taking that risk, especially since he had reach and speed on his opponents and could stay on the outside.
It would of meant coming inside the reach of his opponent when he had far to many advantages on the outside, why play into your opponents hands particularly when they are fresh, I remember Ali, in his early years as Clay being criticized by the old sages and phophets of doom for his habit of simply leaning back from punches, with his hands down.. But still safer for him i suspect than getting too involved with inside trials of strengh As for the parkinson's being boxing related, of that i have little doubt, it's interesting and sad to note that fellow professionals like Ellis Patterson and Quarry all suffered mental detriments at the end, perhaps not only from the actual big shots that they took in fights . but 20 - 25 years of day in day out sparring.. the accumulated head jolts over this period must of had a definate effect.
He did when he was young but got away from it. He was taller than most of his opponents and had a tendency to smack more than punch sometimes. He went to the body against Terrell and I'm sure he would have has he fought more guys that size. As it was it really wasn't worth it.
