Another potential loss probably put him off.

There was no rematch clause. Wlad wanted the rematch, but Sanders refused and vacated the belt he had won from Wlad in order to take the bigger money fight with Vitali and the WBC belt.

I'd love to know why also. Any true champ would be looking to avenge every loss. Wlad let 2 bums beat him unanswered.

Ali was good enough and fast enough to land a shot on Wlad. Wlad takes ages to recover from a flush shot, if Ali tagged him once he would finish him off pretty sharpish.

Too big, too strong, gold medal? :think Like George Foreman you mean? When, since WHEN have any of the Klitschko's lose to anyone stronger, bigger, bla bla bla than them? They are great by today's standards, but no way does either beat prime Ali. No ****ing way.

He didn't want to get KO'd in front of all his fans again. Can't blame the guy.

Wlad would have eventually got Sanders but Sanders back gave out and he was forced to retire. Sanders said himself that he was surprised Wlad didn't use his jab in their fight. In the rematch, we all know how that jab would have factored in and what the result would have been.

Take nothing away from Sanders, he was a very good fighter. But Wlad is an all time great fihgter. Like Steward says, sometimes great fighters lose to lesser fighters - such as Lewis vs. Rahman and McCall - but Wlad would have taken care of business in the rematch.

Yes, Sanders did not want a rematch to defend the mere WBO title.............Sanders had better things in store, as he was after the biggest title of the four titles, the WBC, and he had to drop the WBO in order to face Vitali for Ali's belt.

Who can blame him for clearly KOing one brother, then moving on to beat the other?

Utter trash. The guy got ****in' bum rushed and brutally starched. Sanders would have done the same thing and petrified Wlad would get KOd again.

Who here was super pissed at sanders for coming in against vits well over weight, i was shocked at the time, had heard reports he had not bothered much and been living it up, but was gutted. Watched it last week, and vits was not half respectful early on, even a fat sanders had his moments with a few decent moments, but once vits knew he was gassed due to being in such bad shape (and being hit hard of course), that was it, vits increased the pressure. Why the **** he never trained hard when he may have been able to do something was a *****, doubt he would have KOed vitali, but he could have won imo

And before any K fans jump on this, im a huge fan of theres, but really do think he put the **** up both of them, vitali was so quick to move out of the way when sanders came in i was pretty shocked as i rewatched it, he looked very nervous of the big punch unlike anything ive seen of him since (bar lewis). Sanders was never the well built HW but he was plain awful looking here, **** his managers who should have slapped the **** out of him, he could have won and made enough money to retire there and then, instead of all those sad come backs he did.
