Why did PACQUIAO force cotto to a catchweight of 145 in the fight?

mainly weight difference, pac has smaller body frame than cotto's and pac still not tested in WW. Roach does not have confidence in manny at full 147, but who knows? True. fight should have been at 147. 147 and 145 doenst makes sense isnt it? But going back pre-fight, odds are almost even.

(Margo should have also been at 147 not at 150 Catch but maybe he could not go below at 147, who knows?)

 

It was Cotto who suggested that his fight with Pacquiao be at 145 lbs. Cotto weigh-in at 146 lbs. June 2009 prior to his November 2009 Pacquiao fight. Pacquiao weigh-in at 138 lbs. May 2009 in his last fight prior to the Cotto fight.

I think Team Pacquiao said something like 142 and Team Cotto replied with 145.

Pacquiao was a solid favorite. I remember contemplating putting money on Cotto because I liked how much of an underdog he was and felt the odds were good.

I was terribly off, and glad I didn't put any money on Cotto.

still pacs best win after moving up after the diaz fight, that one and margarito. Think about this. 2 years ago if you said pac will move up to 147 beat cotto and then margarito at 150 for the light middleweight belt you would get laughed at hard, now he gets little credit.
It would be like cotto moving up schooling ward and then destroying dawson at a 171 catchweight and people giving him no credit and calling him a cherrypicker, seems funny doesnt it.
