Why did Patterson immediately rematch Liston?

    Patterson stopped. He glared at the man, bewildered. He wasn’t sure whether it was a joke or an insult, and he really did not know what to do.

    “Aren’t you Sonny Liston?” the man repeated, quite serious.

    “No,” Patterson said, quickly passing by the man, “I’m his brother.”

    Great way to put it. I am under the belief that Patterson could've given Liston a better account of himself if not paralyzed with fear and he knew this hence why he wanted the rematch. Here's an account from a sparring partner "He never did the things he trained all those months to do. It wasn't that he couldn't do them. He did them, beautifully just a few days before the fight."

    They say that Sonny Liston would stuff towels under his robe to look much larger, and he did have that intimidating stare at mid ring, like he wanted to commit a homicide, or you owed him money.
