I'm a Mayweather fan so obviously my opinion is biased about who would win this fight. However I am curious why it never happened? I have heard rumors that SSM avoided Mayweather somewhat, but nothing with any creditability to it. Can anyone give me some insight on this??
When Floyd was at 130,135,140, and 147 he made attempts to fight Shane. Shane either disregarded him as high risk/low reward, or asked for the lion's share of the purse. Once Floyd beat Hoya, Shane then started campaigning to fight Floyd. Floyd briefly retired, then agreed to fight Hatton for 20+ million instead. Floyd made mentions of fighting Shane after Hatton as he assumed Shane would beat Cotto.
Because as Mayweather moved up in weight, Mosley moved down I rank. It would make more sense now, but if Mayweather were to come out of retirement, he has a few other chumps to get rid of first and by then, Molsey will be in a wheelchair.
I wish Mayweather had fought Mosley years ago as I strongly believe PBF would have won, and it would have greatly improved Floyd's resume IMO.
Mayweather was always a couple weight classes smaller than Mosley, and at the times when they were in the same weight class, they had bigger fish to fry. By the time it made sense, Mayweather was already lining up to fight DLH and then Hatton. If Mosley had beaten Cotto, I'm pretty confident the fight would have happened instead of Floyd retiring.
I remember after Floyd beat Gatti he asked Moseley for a match but Mosely told him to fight Margarito.
funny how the tables have turned. Now SSM would jump at the chance to be smacked around by Pretty Boy
Exactly. These idiots would rather believe that Shane kept leaving his division when Floyd entered it.... years later. atsch
Mosley turned PBF down on HBO and said he ws going on vaction with his family and getting his tooth fixed. Blame SSM end of thread.:deal
