Couldn't agree more. Marcos did what he had to do and Adrien put up a terrific effort but came up short. I think they both deserve credit for a great fight....one of the most entertaining matches in 2013. Both have bright futures if they can stay healthy and don't **** it up somehow with bad decisions outside the ring.

 

Exactly. I wish people could just enjoy the fight that was, instead of making up conspiracies.

Both guys are talented and have futures in boxing. Agree there as well.

 

IDC if Broner lost, punk deserved it. I hope this puts Ariza under more of a microscope because he's been cheating for a long time with other fighters. "Protein shakes." He better hope USADA doesn't get on his ass because you saw what they did to Heredia, Lance Armstrong and all those BALCO athletes.

 

You have to know that there are different kinds of pills. The speed of absorption depends greatly on the coating of the pill : the reason why most pills take so long to release their load is the protective coating, designed specifically to withstand the effects of water (an excelent solvent) and to make the trip towards the stomach.

There are pills that act a lot faster, they have a gelatin cover instead of the usual hard shell. But even those take a few minutes to absorb. Either way, it makes no sense to give it to him between rounds 11 and 12, 3 minutes is hardly enough time to take advantage of some sort of booster when the fight is almost over. But then again, maybe Ariza is on the next level as a chemist and designed a burst effect drug that leaves the system in under 30 mins, in which case he can be expected to be scouted by a huge pharma that will pay him way more than Pac and Maidana make combined.

 

I don't subscribe to the idea that he gave him anything. I would believe (and it does look like) he's administering smelling salts, as Maidana draws away from the cloth after a sec.

And in two pages of people, it's clear nobody has done cocaine here before... IF he did give Maidana something to boost his energy level, it could easily be cocaine, which dissolves, absorbs into skin (mucus membrane inside the mouth), and is immediate in effects...
