Why did Prince Nas retire so soon?

Im sure he woulnt of got as many people viewing his fights if he wasnt as arrogant inside and outside the ring. He generated a lot of intrest and thats allways an asset to the sport.

Fighters like cotto and margarito are great for boxing fans but they could never generate intrest like somebody like Naz or Tyson could. As controversial people like nas and tyson are they still were big assets to the sport.

 

But both are controverial and bring **** and drink driving into the sport.

Unfortunately, they are bigger names because they have crossed the line into the mainstream of when sports stars go bad. Is that what you want from your boxers?

This is why Ricky Hatton is so good for boxing... his worst crime? Being a bit plump, loving Man City and liking Guiness.... hardly raping a Miss World or confining someone to a wheelchair for the rest of their life... you catch my drift?

 

Because he realized that MAB could make him look like a fool, and as they say...the ride was over.

 

True hatton is great asset to boxing. But you need some controvery, its creates intrest. Im wasnt including tysons raping as part of controversy needed in boxing and as for Nas, he crashed the car when his career was allready over.

But he was Mr Big Dick and couldn't handle it when he wasn't. Frankly, boxing can do without twats like him. I really liked(!) the boxer but despise the ****. I'd rather he hadn't entered my life at all he is such an irrelevence nowadays.

If he had anything about him, he would have realised what happened and tried to grow as a person/boxer. Unfortunately, emotionally and personally, he couldn't do it because of his self-interest and inability to acknowledge anything other than himself.

 

An intresting thing i read in Calzaghes autobiography was that he said Nas was a bully, inside and outside the ring,

I cant remember who it was but he said he was in a limo with a few boxer inculding nas and nas started making fun of one of the other boxers about how nas had more titles than him. Well the boxer turned round and gave him an earfull, called him jug ears or something lol. After that all nas could say was "Why you being like that?" Calzaghe said that nas was just a bully but once you stand up to the bully the bully cant bully you no more.

Mabie that was Nas's attitude. He was the bully, nobody could beat him. But once he was beat he didnt have the heart to come back, the bully had been beaten. I think this is part of the reason for why his career ended so quickky. that and other factors like his heart wasnt in it anymore, he wasnt focused and a big thing for him was his family, he wanted to spend more time with his kids.

It's all bull****... Hamed could have been special... he never was... He's not. He's just one of a long line of people who could have been.

 

To be fair to him i think a lot of the way he acted was just a front. Just and act to gain more intrest. If you listen to his interviews today he just seems like a normal nice bloke and he even says most of the things he youst to say he never really meant and it was just front. But if calzaghe is right mabie nas was just a bit of a bully.

 

Thats true, but in the list of people who could of been he must be somewhere near the top.

I think at the end of the day Nas was a good, exciting fighter, love him or hate him he created intrest. He could of become a legendary fighter but for a variety of reasons he didnt. He came close to being a great but didnt and he will allways be remembered as a famboyant and exciting fighter.

To be honest id rather have boxers like this. The arrogance, the mic skills is whats needed, Its why boxing can become so boring these days. Boxing needs more of this imo.

It was a lot closer than people make it out to be.
