Good fighters can get wins, Great fighters can comeback from losses.

And you dont know **** if he gave it all of not, you dont know what is going through his head.

Hamed took a beating by the first elite fighter he faced and he knew it would happen again if he challenged himself so he quit.

 

I think after Naseem had suffered his first professional loss in the manor that he did, his confidence was shot.

In his first fight after the Barrera fight, he was unable to stop his man but won a landslide decision.

In all of his previous fights Naseem was knocking everybody out, so that wouldn't have done his confidence anymore good.

I think Barrera brought Naseem back down to earth, and shown him he wasn't the best fighter in the world or that had ever lived.

It was too much to take for Naz.

 

He no longer was a hungry fighter simply didnt want it anymore he isnt the first fighter to go that way and sure as hell wont be the last.

There is so much sh*t on this thread.

1) Barrera wasn't a big name before the fight. He was just a Super Bantamweight beltholder moving up
2) Hamed was an ultra-confident fighter. He was always gonna lose his aura once finally he lost a fight
3) He hated training - look at him now
4) He was massively dependent on his reflexes and they'd started to slow
5) He, like most Asians in Britain, had a close family and after falling out with Ingle it mean't he'd have to move away from them (maybe to the US) to train. Which he didn't want.

His peak was early - maybe 24. He did his time, fought all-comers then retired.

 

GTFoutahere....Barrera became a champion around the same time Hamed did, and was a high profile fighter thanks to his participation in his FOTY against Morales. Barrera was definitely a big-name opponent for Hamed.

All i want to say is, thank **** for Barrera battering the irritating little ****.

 

Barrera won convicingly but only by 7-5, 8-4 rounds, I remember watching it live. It was hardly "the beating of his life" I know that is the legend, but its just because so many people hated Nas at the time, like they do now. but hamed was never knocked down i dont believe..

Believe me, I'm no fan boy, Im not from england and i could care less about the 126 division for the most part but Nas was awesome.. he was very explosive and powerful. much like Pac if he would have retired after his first loss against morales. He is very underrated now-a-days..

Im not a fan of Nas really, thats just the way i see it..
