Any idea? Seems strange thing to do you would of thought it was the last thing he wants It wasn't as if he was asked he brought it up himself, was there a reason for this, because surely he will train manny is it a hint that he is unhappy with Khan something doesn't sit right with me with what he said
Manny isn't going to keep on fighting for ever. He will retire long before Khan does. The option of his last fight being against Khan is an interesting one.
It will be a difficult one to arrange I believe. Khan would have to find a trainer for the fight which considering he'd be going into by far the toughest fight he'd ever have, it's not one you want to be starting a new trainer-student relationship on
yea because no one wants to see a death in the boxing ring or else a 1 round fight which is what would happen.
I dont think he really has done so,probably just b/s papers spreading it. Khan said post fight that he would never fight manny.
He also said he'd be fighting in the 2008 Olympics, he also said he'd never fight Ricky Hatton - and then attempted to arrange it. It's just business, of course if the opportunity was available they would consider it
Depends how much money Khan was offered. Simple as that. He'd gladly take a change of trainer (for one fight) for an opportunity to beat Pacquiao as long as he got a good pay day.
Maybe... Roach wants to get rid of Khan, so he makes the fight, trains Pacquiao, Khan gets thrashed and then Khan gets pissed off and leaves Roach. :S
Roach wasn't being entirely serious, or his comments were misconstrued to give off the impression he wants to match Khan against Pacquiao. Either way, I wouldn't take it too seriously, because the fight will never happen. The fighters themselves have repeatedly said this. Expect Roach in the next few days to clear this notion up if he can even be bothered to.
He didn't. He just made an offhand suggestion that whoever unified the 140Ibs division would move up to 147Ibs and face someone LIKE Pac.
lol all this Manny is like a uncle / older brother to Khan. Bollocks, he doesnt give a ****, hes just a nice guy. Offer him the right cash and he would smash Khan into oblivion
Agreed. If Khan beats Bradley, then moves up to 147 and starts winning titles there, gets himself into P4P contention, then the fight with Pacquiao becomes financially very attractive. So what if they're friends now. They're not family, they just occasionally train together. They may say that they will never fight each other now, but that's exactly what you would expect them to say. Ask them in 18 months time and see what they say. Anything could happen between then and now.
