Okay, but you don't know. My point is, just because Raphael says it was "solid", means nothing. You have no idea if the offer even matched what Geale would get in Australia. All I'm saying is, if it indeed was extremely generous, and a big payday for Geale, then he did indeed duck Martinez. But I can't go off of someone just saying it was "solid".
This man has been chasing the money for years now. And when someone offers him a good payday, he turns it down. It's really that simple. Take what you want from it.
I've never made ducking accusations in this thread; that seems to be your forte. My original post was that Sturm and Geale, two of the other beltholders in the division (holding titles that had not been arbitrarily stripped from Martinez), had been offered fights with Martinez and had turned them down.
Why can't one just as well say he's been trying to get noticed for years now and turned down a fight which wouldn't contribute to that?
So he should run to russia where he would most likely need a KO to win and if not he loses all future paydays? Instead of fighting for equal or a little less money in the states on HBO against what might be a better opponent? And again you aren;t telling me what the Pirog fight does to get him noticed. You made that statement but you now seem to be backing out.
But my contention is, they could've been **** offers. You just don't know. Whatever, this is going nowhere.
 You're right it's going nowhere because that's an utterly banal point that could be said about pretty much every damn thing posted in this thread. Hell pages ago someone posted DiBella saying that the Pirog offer was the same money as what they ended up getting for Macklin, so what do we really even know about that?
I never made the statement that the Pirog fight would get him more/less noticed. I always brought up the financial benefit. But IMO, it may have put him in a better position when it came to negotiations with the Chavez camp for more of a purse split. Purephase disagrees, but that's just his opinion.
Oh **** off with that. I say it's going nowhere, simply due to it being too opinion based at this point.
So you just made that statement for no reason? Seeing as it has nothing to do with what you are saying.
And your opinion is an idiotic one that you yourself said wouldn't apply to any other linear champion except Martinez. You=dumb.
You just seem to want to rant all night on the net. Good for you. But I explained that Martinez isn't well known and isn't the star that HE wants to be recognized as, and that former great lineal champs in the middleweight division have been. This is something he's gone on about ad nauseum in his interviews. I guess you're too busy wanting to kiss him, than listening to what he says.
Sergio is very comfortable with cruising to a UD in fights. However lately, he's been trying to go for the knockout to get noticed etc. It's a shame that JCC Jr. get's $3 mill whereas, Sergio get's something like $1.3 mill. Something's very fishy about all this... Jose saying on a radio show that he bet against Sergio... now Jose is the one who picks the officials etc. I don't think they will give Sergio the nod if he wins 9 rounds of the 12. He need's a T/KO.
And you still have yet to explain how fighting Pirog with no US TV coverage will help his career in any way.:hi:
