Martinez beat a drunk Pavlik so that automatically makes him the best in the division. He can beat GGG, Pirog, Chavez Jr., etc., etc. You're one of those kats who think just because you beat one guy, that means you stay the best by not beating the other champions. The fact that he turned down fighting another champ in the division because of whatever reason, is a duck. You go back to Flatbush *****, your pimp is waiting for you to make his money.
After Hopkins beat Tito(when the WBO went dick) and he became the WBC, IBF and WBA SUPER champion and William Joppy won the vacate WBA regular title from Howard Eastman did Hopkins stop being undisputed? And then after when Hopkins beat Joppy did he become Super Undisputed? When Kessler beat Beyer and they made him WBA Super champion and WBC champ and gave Mundine the WBA regular belt should Kessler have rematched Mundine to prove that he is the true WBA Super duper champ?
Chavez wanted the fight. Whether Martinez fought Pirog or Macklin, it wouldn't have made a difference. And you have no tangible evidence (report, video, article) to support your opinion.
Yeah I'm one of those ******s that think if you beat the undisputed middleweight champion of the world you becomes the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. And only lose that title when someone beats you. Wow you are right now that I say it I see how stupid that sounds.atsch And I'm not from Flatbush you jagoff.
You have no tangible evidence for your first two statements except things said by Chavez in promotion of this fight and FightHype rumors. You likewise have no tangible evidence for your absurd statement that beating Pirog in a fight watched by no one would have increased Martinez's negotiating leverage for Chavez compared to the Macklin win.
Silly ****ing comparison. Hopkins fought Joppy. Kessler already fought and defeated Mundine. Who of the other current middleweight belt holders has Sergio ever fought? He's just getting around to fighting one this weekend.
I think you mean Bradley, Morales, and Garcia, but that logic would only apply if Ajose actually had a belt. Otherwise he's a non-beltholder and is necessarily worse than every other beltholder in the division.
He was turned down for fights by Sturm and Geale, the two guys who actually held belts that weren't simply stripped from Martinez and put on the line between two prospects.
Sexio didn't want any real fights, he knew his next tough opponent might be his last one. He couldn't get the payday he wanted against the midgets and was forced into this fight as the next best thing. He's about to get cashed out.
Has there been anyone who's disputed or repudiated his statements? Hmmm, let's see. Getting half of what Chavez is making this fight. Macklin really worked out for him.
So what if Kessler already beat him? Mundine had a title. And for the 13 months that Joppy held the WBA title was Hopkins no longer undisputed until he beat him?
I'll happily dispute the counterfactual notion that Chavez would have wanted Martinez just as badly if he had fought off-TV. There is NO single fight which would ever guarantee that Martinez would make as much money as Chavez in this bout. Merely sticking your fingers in your ear and repeatedly pointing out that he did not in fact make an equal amount is nowhere near sufficient support for the idea that he'd have been better off not fighting on US television from October 2011 to November 2012 and instead picking up a useless trinket in Russia.
Opps..... I was thinking of Aydin when I said Mayweather. Same situation. But since the belts mean so much there ranking should to no?
