Why did the ref rule Whitaker down with Hatfield?

    In Pernell's 6th pro fight he fought young,tough journeyman Teddy Hatfield.After easily dominating the first round and the coming close to the end of the 2nd Hatfield hit Whitaker with a blattant low blow and the ref gave Pea a mandatory 8 count.Altough Whitaker did hold Hatfield's head down it was a cler low blow IMO.
