I’ve never been a fan of standing eight counts in the pros.

Because the ref knew Fury has a very good chin:
    • he got up with Wilder 4 times
    • he got up with Ngannou 2 times
    • he went to the distance with Wallin even if he was badly cut
and he was waiting for the moment Usyk definetely dropped Fury to start the count but the moment was slow in coming until he decided to count when he saw him kneeling in the corner....

..besides he knew the 9th round was about to end....

..so from one side he wanted to save Fury's bout and give him the possibility to recover and win considered that until the 9th the fight was balanced from another he played a little bit with Fury's life.

If I had been him I would have stopped the fight though.

He stopped the action when Fury fell fully into the ropes. He couldn't have timed it better for a standing 8 count.

1... I think he ref Mark Nelson was afraid to stop the contest, fearing repercussions . After all Fury was the heavy favorite to win. Same goes for the judge that voted for Fury.
I'm so glad I voted for a Usyk win because I'm always right . I was wrong once but its so long ago I forget what I was wrong about !!!!!!!! LOL Just Kidding

Just a thought Fury looked totally helpless laying on the ropes he wasn't defending himself Just think back to all the tragedies that have occurred when fights have not been stopped in that situation. Thankfully Fury appears to be OK but Was it REALLY worth the risk?????

I think the ref did help Fury a lil bit but it wasn't that controversial. Fury was saved by the bell. It has happened throughout the history of boxing.

Nice lie. Fury was fully on the ropes 3-4 time already. You do this on the first occasion, as it's the rule. He did it to save Fury. And he gave him 20+ seconds count.

Big fight, Furys history of being able to recovery after being badly hurt, and yeah probably a bit of favoritism towards Fury. But I don't think it was a bad call. Fury recovered and saw the fight out.

Exactly. You either rule it straight away on the first rope hanging after being hurt or let it go, and then wave it off when the fighter clearly can't defended himself.

This was the biggest robbery of KO i have ever seen.
    And it's always for Fury.

And it's funny how this Fury fans doesn't even want to admit that he once again get a huge count and time to recovery. Yeah his recovery is great, cause he get huge favoritism by the refs and thei protect him with 20+ seconds count.

8 standing count turning into 20 seconds count.
Still no one has answer me why the count was stopped on 3 for literally 2-3 seconds ? And was was so, so slow and stopped at 8 and the ref literally look at Fury for good 5 seconds before let him go out of the hook.
He saved him, he was paid to protect him and he done his job.

Has that been Usyk, fight was over on the first hanging on the ropes.

I couldn't care less that Fury lost and am looking forward to the rematch already regardless of which way it goes.

I've seen a lot of bellyaching from Uysk fans about how he was robbed of a stoppage win despite lots of boxers having been far more hurt in fights and allowed to continue and going on to win fights.

Suddenly standing counts are the worst thing in the world. It's a goofy as the long count Wilder conspiracists or those idiots who claimed Dubois hit Uysk with a low blow when he clearly didn't.

He was right to give him a standing 8 count and knowing how he has recovered in the past and for both men being champions , he did the right thing. If the roles were reversed then Usyk would have deserved a standing 8 also.

Chisora says it, the way it. It was blatantly obvious corruption.
