David Haye is ranked in the #4 position by the WBO. He demolished Chisora winning the "International Championship", while Robert Helenius, as we know, "struggled" pitifully (many would say) to "pull out" a "win". Yet, the WBO jumped Robert Helenius from the #13 slot in their rankings to the #1 position after his decision win over Sherman Tank Williams. Did the WBO screw David? And why? http://www.wboboxing.com/wp-content/pdf/WBO_Ranking_as_of_Nov_2012.pdf
Helenius isn't the mandatory WBO challenger, the spot is vacant. If Haye wanted he could probably push the WBO to get him a final eliminator vs. Helenius.
His ranking is irrelevant really these days. Everyone knows what he wants and it is up to the klits whether it happens or not. If he dropped out of top15 and a klit fight was announced he will miraciously move up in the rankings.
Haye don't deserve ****. I don't understand how anyone feels any sympathy toward him after the Wlad 'fight.' Let Helenius step up and get whacked. HBO was uppin him a while back as a threat to Wlad. Haye blew his chance. Let Helenius have his.
Chisora officially lost to Helenius, so why should Haye beating a 15-3 guy that lost to Helenius warrant a ranking higher than Helenius has?
Haye wouldn't even want it anyway. If he was put in a mandatory position, he wouldn't pursue a fight with WBO champ Wladimir: he doesn't have a promoter to win a purse bid; K2 would win it rather cheaply and Haye wouldn't make the money he wants.
He screwed himself. U can't fight once in two years while stating that ur retired and keep ur rankings. ****er should stay in the jungle and stay irrelevant.
12m people per day watch him in the jungle...i would say hes more relevant than any boxer on earth right now.
The sanctioning bodies are just another think tank group of suits who move fighters around in accordance to what is financially viable for them. The ranking's dont mean ****. Never have, never will.
