Floyd also turned down a fight with Mosley later on in their careers. Fighting Oscar for more money is hardly ducking floyd

Wait when did Mayweather turn Mosley down, between the Marquez and Mosley fights :patsch  Listen to his post fight interviews Mayweather was calling Mosley and Delahoya out for years

I know right, with 'great' in inverted commas

Mayweather's camp tried pushing for a Kostya Tszyu fight back in 2005 but Tszyu's camp was more interested in Hatton than they were in Floyd at that time. I suppose financial reasons were the single biggest factor.

Throw in the HBO/Showtime tangle that would ensue and the and the actual necessity of the fight it seemed premature.

Had Tszyu beaten Hatton then a Mayweather fight would have been on the books for late 2006. KT losing made the prospects of this fight less likely.

Floyd Mayweather wanted 2 fight a 37 years old Tszyu , what a shock !!
I guess they found him a safer opponent than Chris John was @ d time .

Floyd: 'I'll wait until Tyszu is as old as Roger when he fought him to teach him a lesson' and 'Tyszu is a 1 handed fighter'. Yea that was the plan for 2005. And Tyszu would have been 35-36 FF

I think there's an overrating of Tsyzu going on here.

D difference between Floyd & Tszyu is that Tszyu systematically fought good fighters in their prime and a few past prime fighters (not including d beginning of his career which was superbly respectable in its quality compared 2 others) while Floyd never fought a prime good fighter his own size .

And b4 u reply with your consistent **** I will not forget this :
Castillo is overrated primarily due 2 d **** he fed Floyd , besides against Floyd he wasn't all that . Their 2 encounters r more telling about Floyd than about Castillo and I read Floyd came in injured in 1 of them but who knows d problems Castillo had coming in even in that fight .
    Corrales was garbage .
Ortiz not really good and even if he is close 2 it then their fight was a farce that doesn't show anything except of how corrupt this sport is usually .
I think that it was prearranged , even if not 2 d exact details .
Like in d UWFi when they only decided d winner in front , but not d manner .
